This review provides everything you need to know about the Gold Coast’s Pink Flamingo.
The Brisbane Travel Guide acknowledges the Yugambeh people, the Traditional Custodians of the land on which the Pink Flamingo is situated. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging, and recognise their continued spiritual and cultural connections to Country. Always was, always will be, Aboriginal land.

The Venue
Located up a back alleyway – you’ll be forgiven if, like us, you have trouble finding the entrance to the Pink Flamingo Spiegelclub. If you find George’s on Broadbeach – it’s just behind there.
At the venue doors, we were welcomed by a few of the show’s cast members, which is a nice touch – basically, the entertainment starts from here.
Be warned that before you walk into the theatre, you’ll be offered one of those photos that come in a souvenir style card frame for $15 – just politely decline if this is not your cup of tea, and they’re all good.
While the venue is nothing to look at from the outside, once you walk inside, you’re transported into the world of glamour, glitz and sophistication. It’s a world of pink, with plush velvet seating, crystal chandeliers and mirrored walls.
The interior is intimate, with a range of cabaret style tablets hugging the stage and a few booths a little further back. In the top corner is a gorgeous little bar, where you are welcome to go for your drinks, but there is also table service if you prefer.
The Shows
At the time of publishing, the Pink Flamingo on the Gold Coast was showing three shows – their main headlining show being Zirque La La, Ripped is an all male revue and Forbidden is their late night show.
Zirque La La
Zirque La La is the Pink Flamingo’s main headliner show and the one we recently saw. In a nutshell, think sexy circus cabaret show and you’ll know what to expect.
The show is led by Monsieur Jerome and Ring Mistress LaLa and includes a range of talented cast members, from singers, dancers, acrobats, and comedians. There are also a few opportunities for the audience to get involved.
I’ve seen some pretty good cabaret shows in my time and while these guys do a pretty good job, it’s certainly no Blanc de Blanc.
Zirque La La goes for 2 hours, with a 30 minute interval and is showing Tuesday, Friday and Saturday nights and Saturday afternoons.
Tickets start at $118, up to $148.
Ripped
I haven’t seen Ripped, so I can’t talk from personal experience – but I have watched a few videos – all in a day’s work – right?
So from what I can tell, this is your typical style male review. Think Magic Mike, and I reckon you’ve got the picture. As well as some great dance moves, there are some pretty amazing acrobatics and some hot guys too.
Ripped looks perfect for a girl’s night out, whether it’s just a few friends getting together or to celebrate a birthday or hen’s night.
Ripped goes for 90 minutes and shows on Saturday nights at 12.30 am. Doors open from 11.30 pm.
Tickets start at $48, up to $98.
Forbidden
While I haven’t been to Forbidden, I have been to Pink Flamingo’s late night show La Teaze at their Brisbane venue. This show consisted of sexy burlesque performances with a few aerobatic and aerial performances thrown in the mix.
While the show was certainly entertaining, and the dancing was amazing – I have to say I was expecting a lot more and didn’t see the resemblance to Moulin Rouge, which the show claims to be inspired by.
The Pink Flamingo Gold Coast website says this about Forbidden:
The newest sexy cabaret late-night experience is shown at the Pink Flamingo Gold Coast.
Unlock hidden desires, flirt with the Taboo and peek inside the secret world of feminine sensuality. Ever since Eve tempted Adam with the original sin, the powerful and erotic fantasies of the female species have captivated and mesmerised.
Now FORBIDDEN, the Show turns those fantasies into a unique Cabaret Revue that will tantalise you with stunning dancers, risqué themes, raunchy specialty acts and exotic guest performers. Provocative, daring, and scintillating adult entertainment for those ready to leave their inhibitions behind.
Forbidden goes for 90 minutes and shows on Friday and Saturday nights at 10 pm.
Tickets start at $58, up to $88.
Food and drinks
If you get to the show hungry, you’ll be pleased to know there is a decent little bar menu. While you won’t find any fine dining here, there’s plenty on the menu to please most.
We didn’t eat here as we had eaten dinner before arriving, so I can’t talk from first hand experience about the food – but what I saw coming out looked not too bad.
You can check out the full menu here.
A drink is included upon arrival – we were served champagne – which wasn’t the best. Also, at some point in the show, we were all served a shot, which was a bit unexpected but fun.
There is a small bar where you can order your drinks, but table service is provided, making things pretty easy.
