WHERE TO STAY NEAR BRISBANE AIRPORT
Before we look at the accommodation near the Brisbane Airport, let’s talk briefly about the best area to stay in.
As mentioned in the introduction, Brisbane Airport is 20 km from the city centre. So if you want to stay at the closest hotel to the Airport, staying in the city centre isn’t ideal.
If you plan on staying in Brisbane for a while, booking a hotel in the city centre makes sense. You will be able to explore the city either before or after your flight.
But if you’re just staying a night before or after your flight, you’ll probably not want to explore the city much. Plus, as these hotels are further away from the airport, getting to and from the hotel will cost you more.
There aren’t many hotels at the Brisbane Airport – there are two at the Domestic Airport, but unfortunately, there isn’t even one hotel at Brisbane Airport International Terminal. However, plenty of hotels and motels just a short drive or train ride away.
If you don’t stay at one of the Brisbane Airport hotels, then other options include staying along the Brisbane River in the suburb of Hamilton or Ascot. It’s just a 10 minute drive from Hamilton to the Domestic or International Airport.
If you plan to take the train to and from the airport, choose a motel in the suburbs, such as Albion or Clayfield. These areas are also perfect for those after a cheap hotel near the Brisbane Airport.
