The Enchanted Garden is a breathtaking after-dark experience that takes visitors on a magical journey through Roma Street Parklands.
This year’s event is an immersive experience featuring tens of thousands of lights spread across 22,000 square metres of the parkland.
Highlights include twinkling fairy lights draped over ancient trees, displays of lasers, shimmering water features, LED tubes, UV lighting, and immersive pathways that lead you through a kaleidoscope of colours, all designed to create a magical atmosphere.
The combination of festive soundscapes, interactive projections, and nature-inspired artistry makes this event unforgettable.
Allow around 1 hour to experience the almost 1km walk, self guided walk.
Best Times to Visit
For the best experience, consider visiting early in the evening before crowds build up or later in the evening for a quieter, more serene walk. Weeknights tend to be less busy compared to weekends.
Book your tickets in advance to secure your preferred time slot, as this event often sells out quickly.
Accessibility
The Enchanted Garden is designed to be accessible to everyone. The pathways are stroller and wheelchair-friendly, and there are plenty of benches along the route for those who need to rest.
A low sensory experience is offered each Tuesday and Wednesday at 6.30 pm, during which the garden is modified with lower contrast lighting and reduced capacity.
Food and Drinks
From 5 pm each evening, you’ll find a variety of food trucks offering everything from gourmet snacks to sweet desserts.
Alternatively, enjoy a pre- or post-event meal at one of Brisbane’s nearby restaurants or cafes.
Roma Street Parklands also has plenty of picnic spots if you’d prefer to bring your own food.
What to Bring
To make the most of your visit, pack comfortable walking shoes and a reusable water bottle. And of course, don’t forget a camera or smartphone to capture the stunning light displays, but also don’t forget to simply enjoy the moment too.
If the weather is cool, a light jacket will keep you comfortable, and on rainy nights, a small umbrella is a smart addition.
How to Get There
Roma Street Parklands is conveniently located in the heart of Brisbane. You can easily get there by train (Roma Street Station is just a short walk away) or bus, with plenty of public transport options servicing the area.
If you’re driving, there is limited on-site parking. There is car parking along Parkland Boulevard and a car park off College Close. You can park here for $16 per day on weekdays or $12 on weekends.
Event Dates and Booking Information
The Enchanted Garden runs from now until 21 December 2024.
Sessions run every 15 minutes from 6:30 pm to 9:15 pm, ensuring a magical experience for visitors of all ages.
Tickets are required and can be booked online through the official Roma Street Parklands website.
Tickets are priced at $7 for children aged 3–12 and $9 for those aged 13 and older, with free entry for children aged two and under.
Group ticketing options are also available, offering $30 for a family of four (2 adults and 2 children) and $36 for a family of five (2 adults and 3 children).
