Review: Crystalbrook Vincent Hotel

This review provides everything you need to know about a stay at the luxurious 5 star Crystalbrook Vincent Hotel in Brisbane.

The Queensland Travel Guide acknowledges the Turrbal and Yuggera people, the Traditional Custodians of the land on which Brisbane (Meeanjin) is located. We pay our respects to their Elders, past, present and emerging, and recognise their continued spiritual and cultural connections to the Country.  Always was, always will be, Aboriginal land.

The Crystalbrook Vincent Hotel is a five-star luxury hotel located in the vibrant Howard Smith Wharves precinct in the Brisbane CBD. The hotel has 166 rooms and suites and offers a unique blend of luxury, style, and modernity. Its central location means it is only a short walk from shopping, dining, and entertainment venues.

This eco-conscious hotel is part of the Crystalbrook Collection, known for its sustainability initiatives and distinct urban vibe. But in addition to its admirable sustainability initiatives, it also features over 500 prints by acclaimed Australian artist Vincent Fantauzzo, adding an uber-cool vibe to the property.

In this review, we share our thoughts about our recent stay at the Crystalbrook Vincent Hotel so that you can decide if it’s the right hotel for your next trip to Brisbane.

We were paying guests at the hotel, so you can rest assured our review is completely unbiased.

Crystalbrook Vincent Hotel Review

Below, we cover all you need to know about staying at the Crystalbrook Vincent Hotel, including its location, accommodation options, facilities, and dining options.

Location

Crystalbrook Vincent enjoys a prime location at the base of the Story Bridge, overlooking the Brisbane River in the heart of Howard Smith Wharves, one of Brisbane’s hot dining precincts.

As well as being surrounded by a massive range of restaurants and bars, you are also well-located for a lovely stroll along the river into the centre of the Brisbane CBD.  Alternatively, a ferry terminal is right at Howards Smith Wharf, making it super easy to drift onto South Bank.

Central Station is a 15 minute walk away, or is the Fortitude Valley Station.

The location is ideal for those looking to immerse themselves in Brisbane’s vibrant atmosphere while still having a peaceful retreat to return to.

Accommodation Options

The 166 rooms and suites at Crystalbrook Vincent are designed to impress. They have contemporary and chic interiors and focus on sustainable luxury, eco-friendly amenities, and smart in-room technology.

All rooms feature in-room tablet control, a 55” Smart TV with casting for video streaming, a Nespresso machine, a workspace, a sofa, luxury bathrooms with a rainforest shower, and free Wi-Fi. Each room sleeps two people in a king bed or twin beds, and interconnecting rooms are available for families.

Standard rooms are surprisingly spacious, with stunning floor-to-ceiling windows offering views of the Brisbane River (higher floor levels), Howard Smith Wharves (levels one and two) or the back of the hotel with beautiful greenery views.  The River view rooms have the addition of a massive bathtub.

For those after a bit more room, the master rooms come with all the same amenities as the standard rooms but with separate bedroom and living areas (not separate rooms though).  There is also the option of a master room with a balcony offering fabulous river views.

For the ultimate in space, treat yourself to the two-bedroom suite, featuring a fully equipped kitchen, dining room, and private balcony with either river or garden views.

The vibrant artworks, created by Australian artist Vincent Fantauzzo, add a unique artistic flair to the rooms.

Dining Options

While Crystalbrook Vincent may only have two dedicated dining options on the property, being at Howard Smtih Wharves, one of the city’s most popular dining precincts, you certainly won’t go hungry while staying here!

Fiume

Fiume offers a stunning rooftop oasis that combines sophisticated dining with breathtaking views. Overlooking the Brisbane River, Fiume is an ideal spot for those looking to unwind with a cocktail while enjoying the city’s vibrant skyline. The bar’s modern, stylish design, complete with a chic poolside setting, makes it a perfect destination for both day and night.

The menu at Fiume showcases a selection of Mediterranean-inspired dishes crafted from fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Guests can indulge in share plates like crispy calamari, charcuterie boards, and seasonal salads or opt for heartier mains that celebrate the best of Queensland’s produce.

Complementing the food is an expertly curated drink list featuring signature cocktails, local wines, and craft beers that enhance the overall dining experience.

Fiume is perfect for a casual catch-up with friends, a romantic date, or a special celebration. It provides an unforgettable combination of fine food, drinks, and stunning panoramic river and city skyline views.

For example, the Stracciatella on focaccia I had during my stay at Crystalbrook Vincent was one of the best breakfasts I’ve had in a long time.

Mews emphasises sustainability by incorporating seasonal ingredients and reducing waste, ensuring every meal is delicious and environmentally conscious.  In addition, the open kitchen adds an element of theatre, allowing guests to watch as the chefs bring their dishes to life.

Room Service and Mini Bar

If you fancy a quiet night dining in your hotel room, you’re in luck, as Crystalbrook Vincent also offers room service, as well as a well stocked mini bar.

Howard Smith Wharves

Howard Smith Wharves is a food lover’s paradise, featuring various dining experiences, from casual bites to fine dining. The restaurants here take full advantage of their stunning riverfront location, offering exceptional cuisine and breathtaking views of the city skyline and the bustling river.

A popular spot is Felons Brewing Co., a lively riverside brewery offering freshly brewed craft beers and a relaxed menu of wood-fired pizzas, burgers, and seafood.

For those craving Asian flavours, Yoko Dining provides a contemporary take on Japanese izakaya dining. It serves vibrant dishes like sashimi, tempura, and yakitori in a chic, upbeat setting.

Then there’s Greca, a modern Greek taverna that brings Mediterranean tastes to Brisbane. In a warm and inviting atmosphere, it features delicious mezze plates, chargrilled meats, and fresh seafood.

For a more upscale experience, Ciao Papi offers a taste of Italy with a menu focused on fresh pasta, seafood, and other Italian classics. It is perfect for a leisurely lunch or a romantic dinner by the water.

On the other hand, Stanley delivers a refined Cantonese dining experience with its elegant interiors and a menu featuring dim sum, roast meats, and wok-fried delicacies.

Facilities

In addition to its original artwork, bike hire, 24-hour reception, and conference spaces, the hotel offers two other notable features for guests.

The Pool

The pool at Crystalbrook Vincent offers guests a luxurious escape from the city’s hustle and bustle. Perched on the rooftop of this stylish hotel, the pool area offers stunning panoramic views of the Brisbane River, Story Bridge, and the city skyline, creating a picturesque backdrop for a day of relaxation.

While only small, with its sleek design and chic surroundings, the pool is an ideal spot to unwind, whether you’re looking to take a refreshing dip, soak up the sun, or enjoy a cocktail from the adjacent Fiume bar.

Guests can lounge by the pool on comfortable sunbeds, enjoying the gentle river breeze and the vibrant energy of the Howard Smith Wharves precinct below. The atmosphere is relaxed and sophisticated, making it a perfect retreat for a leisurely afternoon or a sunset swim.

The Gym

The Crystalbrook Vincent gym offers guests free, 24/7 access. It has the usual equipment, such as bikes, running machines, free weights and kettlebells. The gym isn’t huge, but due to the 24/7 access, I doubt you’ll ever have to wait to use any of the equipment.

Parking

The Crystalbrook Vincent offers secure on-site car parking for $35 (usually $38) per 24-hour period. Parking is limited, so it must be pre-booked via the hotel, particularly if you wish to take advantage of this special rate.

Who is Crystalbrook Vincent for?

The Crystalbrook Vincent is perfect for couples looking for a luxurious Brisbane hotel with excellent amenities in a central location. It is easy to get to if you are driving or using public transport, and everything you need is within walking distance.
