I recently got to experience the brand new Sunset Cruise in Moreton Bay Marine Park on board Dolphin Wild Island Cruises’ gorgeously refurbished 22m Supercat.
The cruise departs from Newport Marina in Redcliffe and sets sail around the bay.

About Dolphin Wild Island Cruises
Dolphin Wild Island Cruises is the longest running marine eco cruise in the Redcliffe and Brisbane area. They’ve recently obtained brand new owners, an Australian family who have proudly given the 22m Supercat a new lease of life.
Dolphin Wild Island Cruises offers a range of different cruises in the calm waters of the Moreton Marine Park. The cruises include activities like snorkelling, swimming, fish feeding, seeing marine life such as dolphins, as well as simply sitting back and relaxing while enjoying a glass of wine or cold beer and snacking on scrumptious grazing platters.
About the Supercat
While the Moreton Bay Marine Park itself is just spectacular, it certainly does help a little that you’re onboard the really renovated Supercat.
The Supercat accommodates up to 65 people, across two levels, with three separate areas guests can enjoy. Inside you have an air conditioned area with tables, chairs and lounges.
Outside there are two different viewing decks, including the back of the bottom level and the top deck. These are all perfect positions to view the marine life and get a better view of the gorgeous sunset.
The Sunset Cruise
Departing from Newport Marina in Redcliffe, this brand new cruise gives guests the chance to view the sunset over the Glasshouse Mountains while enjoying a leisurely cruise around the Moreton Bay Marine Park.
The cruise departs well before sunset to give guests plenty of opportunity to spot the local marine life, such as dolphins, turtles and dugongs. Sadly for me, I didn’t see any during my cruise.
The price of the sunset cruise also includes a drink on arrival and a cheese platter with a grazing box.
If you’d like to be entertained by some local musicians, head to the top deck, where you can enjoy some chilled out tunes.
The licensed bar is also fully stocked, so guests can purchase more drinks throughout the cruise.
Departure and Booking Details
If this all sounds like the perfect way to spend a Friday evening, then this is what you need to know.
The cruise departs from the Newport Marina at 4.30 pm sharp – so arrive before around 4.15 pm to ensure you’re on time.
The cruise is $75 per adult and $45 per child.
The cruise returns to the marina at 6.30 pm, so you’ll have a full two hours on the water.
